Report: Fran Cruz attracts La Liga interest

Cordoba defender Fran Cruz has emerged as a reported transfer target for a number of La Liga clubs, with Espanyol believed to be leading the race.

The 22-year-old has featured in 19 league games for the Segunda Division side this season after breaking into the first-team set-up.

According to reports in Spain, Villarreal are keen admirers of the defender, but Espanyol are hopeful of securing his services before the window slams shut at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, it is understood that French forward Thievy Bifouma has moved closer to the exit door at Espanyol this week.
