Manu Lanzarote joins Deportivo Alaves on loan

Experienced midfielder Manu Lanzarote has joined Segunda Division side Deportivo Alaves on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 31-year-old has struggled for first-team football this term, with both his Espanyol appearances coming in the Copa del Rey.

However, the midfielder is expected to play a regular role for his new team.

"I want to give my thanks to everyone at RCD Espanyol: the team, the employees and the fans. You are a great family. I wish you a successful end to the season," Lanzarote wrote on Twitter.

Lanzarote started his career at Barcelona.
