Espanyol 1-0 Mallorca

Vladimir Weiss scored the only goal of the game as Espanyol defeated ten-man Real Mallorca this afternoon.

The former Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers winger struck in the 18th minute when his left-footed effort nestled in the bottom corner of the net.

Visiting Mallorca's chances of taking anything from the match were dealt a blow two minutes after the restart when Dudu Aouate was handed his marching orders for a late challenge.

Espanyol had a good opportunity to extend their lead with time running out, but Rui Fonte shot over from close range.
