Ryan Bertrand absent from training

Ryan Bertrand was absent from England training this morning because of a sore throat.

The Chelsea full-back was called into the squad yesterday as a replacement for Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs, who suffered an injury at the weekend.

Despite his withdrawal this morning, the 23-year-old is expected to be fit to face San Marino on Friday evening.

Bertrand has earned two caps at senior international level.
