Frank Lampard says that leading England out at Wembley will be his "proudest moment".

Frank Lampard has expressed his pride ahead of captaining England against Spain tomorrow.

The Chelsea midfielder will take the place of official captain John Terry at the Wembley match as his teammate begins the game on the bench.

"[It will be] my proudest moment in an England shirt and I've had a few," he told reporters. "To lead your country out at Wembley is very special."

Lampard added that Terry has not been deflated by the ongoing racism allegations and that his game will not be affected when he resumes leadership against Sweden next week.

"He's coping just fine," he explained. "We've all had our moments where it's difficult in football. His character is fine.

"When he plays on Tuesday you'll see exactly the same John as always. There's lots of respect for him in the dressing room."

Tomorrow's match will earn Lampard his 90th cap for his country.
