Lampard confirmed to captain England

Frank Lampard will captain England against Spain in tomorrow's friendly, manager Fabio Capello has confirmed.

The 33-year-old will take charge in place of regular captain and Chelsea teammate John Terry, who will begin the fixture on the bench.

However, Capello confirmed that Terry, who is currently under investigation by the FA and Metropolitan Police over racism allegations, will lead the team against Sweden next week.

Lampard previously acted as skipper in the side's friendly against Denmark earlier this year.
