Two teams that will be expected to be in the mix for possible promotion from the Segunda Division this season will lock horns on Monday night, with Huesca welcoming Eibar to Estadio El Alcoraz.

Both sides have collected four points from their opening two matches of the campaign, with the hosts in 11th spot in the Segunda Division table, while the visitors currently occupy sixth position.

Huesca opened their 2025-26 Segunda Division campaign with a 1-1 draw against Leganes, before beating Mirandes 1-0 last time out, so it has been a solid start, with four points leaving them in 11th spot in the table.

Azulgranas finished eighth in the Segunda Division last season, five points off the playoffs, and they did manage to win 18 of their 42 league fixtures, so it was a relatively strong campaign.

Huesca have been absent from the top flight of Spanish football since since 2020-21, and they have only actually spent two seasons in La Liga in their entire history, with their first proving to be 2018-19.

Eibar and Huesca have locked horns on 14 occasions throughout history, with the former leading the head-to-head six wins to five, while there have only been three draws in their previous meetings.

Both triumphed in their home fixtures in the Segunda Division last term, with Huesca running out 2-1 winners in the corresponding fixture in December 2024.

Eibar, meanwhile, also won 2-1 at home in March 2025, and it is Los Armeros that have enjoyed the better of the recent meetings, picking up victories in five of the last seven games between the two sides.

Benat San Jose's side opened their 2025-26 Segunda Division campaign with a 1-1 draw against Malaga before recording an excellent 3-0 victory at home to Granada last time out.

Four points from two matches has left them in sixth spot in the table, and they will be looking to improve on last season's ninth-placed finish in the Segunda Division, which left them 11 points off the playoff spots.

Eibar have played seven seasons in La Liga during their history, with their last appearance in the top flight coming in 2020-21, but they have made the playoffs in three of their last four Segunda Division campaigns.

Team News

Huesca have been solid defensively this season, conceding just once in their two matches, and the manner of their win over Mirandes last time out could mean that the hosts are unchanged here.

Sergi Enrich came up with the only goal of the match against Mirandes, and he is set to continue through the middle against his former club, with the striker still going strong at the age of 35.

Enol Rodriguez and Samuel Ntamack are options to come into the side in the final third, but both are expected to start on the bench, while a back five should again include Jorge Pulido.

As for Eibar, no fresh injury issues have been reported from their clash with Granada last time out, and it would therefore not be a surprise to see the same XI take to the field on Monday.

Javi Marton was on the scoresheet against Granada, and he is set to continue through the middle here, with Jose Corpas and Jon Guruzeta expected to feature in the wide areas.

Captain Anaitz Arbilla was substituted in the second half of the team's last match, but it was a tactical change, and the centre-back will be fit for Monday's encounter in Aragon.
