Dynamo Moscow come from behind to beat Panathinaikos in Russia

Dynamo Moscow come from a goal down to grab a 2-1 victory over Panathinaikos in their Europa League Group E clash.

Dynamo Moscow have extended their lead at the top of Europa League Group E to 15 points after coming from a goal down to secure a 2-1 triumph over Panathinaikos.

The Russian outfit had already qualified for the knockout rounds, but they suffered a blow on home turf when Marcus Berg opened the scoring for Panathinaikos after 14 minutes.

Nano played a role by sweeping the ball into the area from the left, and after the ball bounced off the post, Berg was there to snatch a header after beating Chris Samba in the air.

Mathieu Valbuena had a decent chance to equalise towards the end of the first half, but Stefanos Kotsolis was there to make the save.

In the second half, Dynamo managed to equalise when William Vainqueur launched a shot in the box, but it took a huge deflection before bouncing into the back of the net and has been recorded as an own goal from Kostas Triantafyllopoulos.

After receiving a slice of luck, Dynamo managed to take the lead in the 61st minute when Aleksei Ionov latched on to possession to drive into the box and slot the ball past Kotsolis.

Berg tried to respond with an equaliser for Panathinaikos, but he missed the target and the Greek outfit were forced to relinquish all three points after taking an early lead.

Panathinaikos have no chance of qualifying for the next round as they sit at the bottom of the table with just one point from five games.
