Dundee United knock St Mirren out of Scottish Cup

Dundee United have beaten St Mirren 2-1 in the Scottish Cup this afternoon.

Ryan Gauld gave the home side the lead on 26 minutes when he turned home Nadir Ciftci's cross.

The Buddies were back in it minutes later when Kenny McLean grabbed the equaliser from the penalty spot after Jason Naismith had been fouled in the area.

However, Ciftci restored the lead five minutes after the restart to send the home side through.
