Hibernian and Dumbarton both sit in mid-table in the Scottish Championship after a goalless draw at Easter Road this afternoon.
The Edinburgh side will feel the more comfortable of the two as they remain in fifth, whereas Dumbarton will still be looking over their shoulders two places below them in seventh.
Hibs had the lion's share of possession on the day, with the visitors seemingly happy to absorb pressure put on them by Alan Stubbs's side while attempting to pinch the points through counter-attacking.
In the end, though, the game was a stalemate, with Hibs huffing and puffing but finding themselves unable to blow down a resolute Dumbarton defence.
The talking point of the game came towards the end of the first half when Dominique Malonga failed to convert from the penalty spot after drawing a foul out of Scott Taggart.
Malonga's shot went straight down the middle and his effort was saved comfortably by Dumbarton keeper Danny Rogers.
Malonga was replaced by Paul Heffernan with 20 minutes of the game remaining, but he was unable to fashion a chance of note and the game ended goalless.
