Derby County favourites for Joey Barton, according to bookies

Derby County are currently the 10/11 favourites with bookmakers to sign Joey Barton on a free transfer this summer.

The experienced midfielder had been training with West Ham United after leaving Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.

However, a move to Upton Park could not be agreed, with Barton confirming as much on Tuesday evening.

According to SkyBet, Derby are now the favourites to sign the 32-year-old, although it is understood that Barton is keen on remaining in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked with a move and can be backed at 2/1.
