Chris Baird signs for Derby County from West Bromwich Albion

Derby County have completed the signing of Northern Ireland international Chris Baird on a two-year contract.

The 33-year-old joins the Rams on a free transfer with his West Bromwich Albion contract soon expiring.

The versatile Northern Irishman is the Rams' fifth signing of a busy summer, following the arrivals of Darren Bent, Alex Pearce, Scott Carson and Andreas Weimann.

"This is another extremely positive signing for us and we're very pleased with the business that we have conducted in the transfer market so far this summer," Derby head coach Paul Clement told the club website.

Baird spent just one season at West Brom, making 24 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies.
