Clement to take pay cut to join Derby?

Real Madrid coach Paul Clement is reportedly willing to take a £250,000-a-year pay cut to begin his managerial career at Derby County.

The 43-year-old had been working as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant at Santiago Bernabeu, but he could now leave the Spanish giants following the Italian's exit.

Derby are looking for a new boss after parting company with head coach Steve McClaren on Monday.

Clement is said to be desperate to break into management after embarking on an impressive coaching career that began at the Chelsea academy in 1996.

According to The Mirror, he will sign a four-year deal with Derby worth £8m to become the highest-paid manager in the Championship.

Derby finished eighth in the second tier this season after winning just two of their last 13 games.
