Jonas Gutierrez signs for Deportivo La Coruna

Former Newcastle United midfielder Jonas Gutierrez has signed for Deportivo La Coruna.

The 32-year-old was released by the Magpies at the end of last season, despite netting a crucial goal to keep the club in the Premier League in their 2-0 win over West Ham United on the final day.

However, the Argentine's spell without a club is over as Deportivo have completed a move for his signature, subject to a medical.

Gutierrez was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2014, but managed to overcome the disease to return to the pitch.
