Deportivo La Coruna sign Paulo Assuncao

Deportivo La Coruna have signed experienced Brazilian midfielder Paulo Assuncao on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old, who has previously played in Spain with Atletico Madrid, was available on a free having departed Sao Paulo at the beginning of January.

It is understood that the Brazilian has signed a three-year deal with the La Liga outfit, with the option of a further season based on appearances.

Assuncao told the club's official website: "I'm very pleased, happy and grateful to come to a club as great as Depor and to be given the opportunity to return to Spanish football."

Depor currently sit in 19th position in the La Liga table.
