Granada snatch draw at Deportivo La Coruna

Granada ease their relegation fears in La Liga with a 2-2 draw at 10-man Deportivo La Coruna.

Granada have boosted their hopes of survival in La Liga with a dramatic 2-2 draw at 10-man Deportivo La Coruna.

The visitors took a surprise lead with just seven minutes on the clock as Piti made some space for himself on the edge of the penalty area before curling the ball into the top corner.

However, Deportivo got themselves level on 34 minutes as Jose Rodriguez slotted in the rebound after Alberto Lopo's initial effort had been saved.

The home side then turned the game on its head just four minutes later thanks to Lucas, who blasted home from close range following a quick counter-attack.

Deportivo did most of the pressing in the second half, with Luis Farina fluffing his lines and Juanfran narrowly missing the target with a low drive.

While the hosts continued to dominate during the final stages, Grandad snatched a share of the spoils with just seven minutes remaining as Robert Ibanez pounced in the box to fire past the keeper.

After being pegged back late on, Deportivo's afternoon got worse on 88 minutes as Farina was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Fran Rico.
