Preview: Rangers vs Cowdenbeath

Sports Mole looks ahead to Rangers' home match with relegation-threatened Cowdenbeath.

Rangers head into this weekend's Scottish Championship clash with Cowdenbeath knowing that victory could move them level on points with second-placed Hibernian.

Stuart McCall claimed his first victory as Gers manager last Sunday when his side saw off Hibs 2-0, ending a run of five consecutive draws.

McCall is unlikely to make sweeping changes following the convincing victory at Easter Road, but Newcastle United loanee Haris Vuckic is pushing for a recall after a spell on the sidelines.

Rangers have only one fresh injury concern, with youngster Tom Walsh having withdrawn from the Scotland Under-19 squad earlier this week with a hamstring strain.

He joins Richard Foster (groin hernia), Seb Faure (knee) and Steven Smith (back) on the sidelines.

Cowdenbeath head into the match with the threat of relegation hanging over them, occupying ninth place in the table, but a surprise win at Ibrox could see them leapfrog Alloa Athletic into a position of safety.

However, the Fife side have not tasted victory in their last six attempts and have kept just three clean sheets in the league all season.

They have conceded a lorryload of goals in recent matches - including the 10 they shipped against newly-crowned champions Hearts - but may take some comfort from the fact that they held Rangers to a goalless draw when the sides last met.

Rangers:

Cowdenbeath:
