Coventry City reportedly plan to appoint former Barnsley boss Mark Robins as their new manager within 24 hours.

Coventry City are expected to confirm the appointment of Mark Robins as their new manager this week.

The League One club, who sacked Andy Thorn in August, were understood to have whittled their shortlist down to three individuals - with Robins competing against Paul Ince and Richard Shaw for the Ricoh Arena hot seat.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Robins has emerged as the stand-out candidate following a series of impressive interviews and he will be announced as the Sky Blues' new boss within 24 hours.

Robins, 42, has been out of management since resigning from his position at Barnsley in May 2011.
