Portland Timbers came from two goals down to draw at Colorado Rapids in today's MLS encounter.
Goals from Dillon Powers and Hendry Thomas put the home team ahead before a second-half Will Johnson double ensured that the points would be shared.
Colorado began the game well and after just three minutes Shane O'Neill struck the post with a powerful header.
The home side continued to pressure their opponents and shortly afterwards Powers was brought down just outside the box by Jack Jewsbury. The midfielder picked himself up and struck the free-kick into the top corner to give his side the lead.
Powers, pulling all the strings in midfield, missed the chance to double the lead just before half-time and the sides went in level.
Five minutes into the second half and it was 2-0. Diego Chara brought down Tony Cascio inside the box and Thomas stepped up to slot home the penalty.
It didn't take long for Portland to respond. A free-kick from Ryan Johnson found his namesake Will free inside the box to head the ball in.
The away side were awarded penalty of their own on 70 minutes after Atiba Harris fouled David Horst. Will Johnson stepped up and scored his second of the game to level the score.
Deshorn Brown headed wide from close-range for Colorado five minutes later as both teams pushed for a winner.
Neither could find it though, and had to settle for one point each.
