Colchester United have completed the signing of former Queens Park Rangers and Reading defender Kaspars Gorkss on a short-term deal until January.
The 33-year-old had been without a club after being released from his contract at Reading in the summer.
The Latvian, who has won 59 caps for his country, spent part of last season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Colchester continue their League One campaign on Saturday when they welcome Rochdale to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
