Chivas USA have secured a tight 1-0 victory against Toronto FC following a Oswaldo Minda winner.
The away side started brightly and dominated possession as Toronto struggled to deal with Chivas' attacking style.
Chivas were rewarded for their efforts in the 31st minute as Minda powered a header into the back of the net from a dangerous Miller Bolanos corner.
Joao Plata almost equalised just minutes later but he failed to hit the target from a difficult angle.
Toronto came out in the second half a much-improved side and Ryan Johnson's header had to be kept out saved by Dan Kennedy.
Despite Toronto's improvement, Chivas came closest to scoring in the final stages but Ben Zemanski failed to test Milos Kocic in the Toronto goal.
Toronto almost forced a leveller late on but Chivas held on for the three points.
