Chesterfield boss Paul Cook has insisted that midfielder Sam Togwell remains part of his first-team plans at the club.
The 28-year-old started the first match of the season at Bury, but has struggled for opportunities in the last couple of months.
"I feel a bit sorry for Sam Togwell. He's not out of our plans, it's not that we don't want to play him. Sam is a very good central midfielder," Cook told reporters at a press conference.
"There is no problems as regards relationships, as has been suggested, and he hasn't been frozen out. Sam will get a chance and when he does I'm sure he will take it."
A number of clubs are believed to be interested in taking Togwell on loan.
