Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid target Edison Cavani will stay in the French capital this month.
With just six months remaining on his contract, the 32-year-old submitted a transfer request earlier in January amid interest from Europe's elite, but no potential suitors have been willing to match PSG's £25m valuation.
"There are worse situations in life than staying at PSG," Tuchel told reporters at a pre-match press conference this afternoon. "I think he will feel good. He must regain the confidence and rhythm.
"Edi is here, he's a great player - we won't change this group and that's good."
The club's sporting director Leonardo added: "We did not agree [a deal] with anyone. We never thought of selling him but there was a time when we studied the proposals. He is available [to us] for the rest of the season."
David Beckham's new MLS franchise Inter Miami have also admitted to talks with the Uruguayan ahead of the American transfer window opening next month.
