Chelsea winger Kenedy open to staying at Newcastle United

Kenedy open to staying at Newcastle

Kenedy has said that it would "be a pleasure" to remain at Newcastle United past the end of the season.

In January, Kenedy left Chelsea to link up with the Magpies on a loan deal until the summer, and the Brazilian has proven to be a hit at St James' Park with two goals in six starts in the Premier League.

Kenedy still has over two years remaining on his contract with Chelsea, but the left-sided player has indicated that he is open to leaving Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

The 22-year-old told UOL: "If it's good for everyone, it would be a pleasure to continue wearing the shirt of this great team. This new phase of my career in Newcastle's shirt makes me very happy.

"It is very difficult for a player to stay out of action injured for a long time, even more difficult to get back into the rhythm of the Premier League."

Kenedy is expected to feature when Newcastle host Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
