Chelsea 'considering Robert Lewandowski approach'

Chelsea are reportedly not ruling out making a bid for Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, who has also been linked with Barcelona.

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring any developments with the future of Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski.

On Saturday, the legendary frontman confirmed that he would like to depart the Allianz Arena this summer, revealing that he had no intention of penning a new contract.

While Bayern officials have played down the chances of the 33-year-old being allowed to move elsewhere, much is said to depend on whether they can find a suitable replacement.

Barcelona are regarded as the clear favourites to secure Lewandowski's signature and a three-year contract is allegedly on the table should a fee be agreed with Bayern.

However, according to The Guardian, Chelsea may involve themselves in the race for the player if Barcelona cannot meet Bayern's asking price, which is currently undetermined.

The Premier League outfit would only move for Lewandowski if they are able to part ways with Romelu Lukaku or Timo Werner, both players having endured an inconsistent campaign in the final third.

Furthermore, a takeover of Chelsea must still go through as soon as possible, with fresh doubts allegedly emerging over the process.
