NBA chairman Larry Tanenbaum and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin allegedly join the bid for Chelsea headed by Boston Celtic co-owner Stephen Pagliuca.

Stephen Pagliuca's proposal to buy Chelsea has reportedly been boosted by the presence of the NBA chairman and a Facebook co-founder.

Pagliuca is one of four candidates who features in the final stage of the bidding process for the West Londoners, the change of ownership being overseen by Raine Group.

If reports are to be believed, Pagliuca is currently regarded as one of the outsiders, but it appears that he is making every effort to bolster his financial and profile firepower.

According to Sky News, Larry Tanenbaum and Eduardo Saverin are now on board ahead of the final proposals being submitted later this week.

Pagliuca will only be able to progress further with his offer if he dilutes his share in Italian outfit Atalanta BC.

LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly, the Ricketts Family of the Chicago Cubs and a consortium led by former Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton are also in the running to take over from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
