Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini thinks that Chelsea can contend for the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that Chelsea remain in the title race, despite an inconsistent period in the Premier League season.

Many have suggested that City and fierce rivals Manchester United are the only two clubs in contention for league glory but Mancini has claimed that it is too early in the campaign to tell.

"It's difficult to say this because the season is long and I think in February when the Champions League [starts] everything can change," said Mancini. "I think Chelsea could win. In this moment I think [it's a three-horse race] but it's difficult to say."

City currently sit one point adrift of table-toppers United.
