Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku believes that he is ready to force his way into manager Roberto Di Matteo's first-team plans during the coming season.
The 19-year-old Belgium international, who scored twice as the Blues beat MLS outfit Seattle Sounders 4-2 yesterday, only started one match in the Premier League last term.
"[Last season] was very difficult but you have to be patient sometimes," Lukaku told the Daily Star.
"I have to really fight for my spot in the starting XI. If you want to help the team you have to do your job and for me that is to score goals.
"If you get the chance, take it."
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht for a fee of £18m in August 2011.
