Chelsea's Diego Costa named PFA Fan Player of the Month for September

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been named as the PFA Fan Player of the Month for September following a scintillating start to his Premier League career.

The Brazil-born Spain international, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid in the summer, has scored eight goals in six games.

Four of those goals came in September - a hat-trick in the Blues' 4-2 win over Swansea City and one in Chelsea's comfortable 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old has helped push Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table with a three-point lead ahead of this Sunday's clash against Arsenal.

Costa will be presented with the award later this month.
