Daniel Sturridge doubful for Olympics after meningitis scare

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is a major doubt for Team GB after suffering a meningitis scare.

According to the Daily Mail, Sturridge has shown some worrying symptoms over the past few days and is undergoing extensive tests to establish the nature of the illness.

Sturridge is due to meet up with the rest of Stuart Pearce's squad this weekend ahead of Team GB's opening game against Senegal on July 26.

Pearce will have until the day before the Senegal game to decide on Sturridge's fitness and call upon a replacement on the standby list.
