Gary Cahill has praised the "fantastic" performance of his Chelsea teammates during this evening's 2-0 League Cup final victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
The Blues proved too strong for their London rivals to secure the first piece of silverware of the campaign, while also remaining on track to claim the Premier League title in May.
Diego Costa's deflected strike 10 minutes into the second half added to John Terry's earlier opener to settle the match, and Cahill admitted afterwards that lifting the cup felt "special".
"Fantastic. This sets up a good finish to the season. Against our local rivals, clean sheet, we've won the cup, it's an amazing feeling," he told BBC Sport. "They made it tough, they had a couple of chances in the first half but the skipper stood up for us with the goal.
"Diego was superb, and every single player on the pitch gave 100%. This is what you get when you work hard, and it's special for me too because I've never won the League Cup before.
"We knew we had a job to do. Kurt Zouma for such a young lad to come in to the team, he's been fantastic, and he played an unfamiliar position today. He's a great boy, a fantastic talent."
Chelsea will be hoping to push on from their victory when they return to league action on Wednesday night with a trip to take on West Ham United.
