Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Man City

Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night as they look to make it two wins from two since returning from the coronavirus shutdown.

Frank Lampard's side resumed their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, as quickfire goals from Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud just after the hour mark ensured a winning return.

The result saw the Blues move five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United in the battle for a top-four finish, but they welcome Man City to West London having already lost five times on home turf this term.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of the latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: June 25 (vs. Man City)

Callum Hudson-Odoi missed the match against Aston Villa due to an ankle injury and remains a major doubt for Thursday's game.

Fikayo Tomori

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: July 1 (vs. West Ham United)

Fikayo Tomori is expected to be out for the remainder of the month due to a muscle problem which also kept him out of Sunday's contest.

Marco van Ginkel

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Marco van Ginkel raised eyebrows recently by suggesting that he could be in for a new contract at Chelsea as he nears a long-awaited return from an injury which has ruled him out for close to two years now.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for this match, with Jorginho free to return after serving his two-match ban for accumulating 10 yellow cards.
