Demba Ba in contention to start for Chelsea in FA Cup

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that new striker Demba Ba could make his debut for the club this weekend.

The Senegal international sealed his move to Stamford Bridge this afternoon on a three-and-half-year deal from Newcastle United and Benitez has claimed that he is fit to face Southampton in the FA Cup third-round clash tomorrow.

"He's fine so he has a chance to play," BBC Sport quotes Benitez as saying. "We know the situation. This is a player playing in the Premier League and playing every game and he can play [every game] for us."

Ba has netted 13 goals in the top flight so far this season.
