Half-Time Report: Jean-Yves M'voto puts Barnsley ahead

A goal from Jean-Yves M'voto gives Barnsley a 1-0 lead over Charlton Athletic at half time in their Championship clash.

Barnsley have headed into half time at The Valley ahead in their Championship relegation six-pointer with Charlton Athletic this evening.

The visitors looked lively at the start, trying to get the ball to Chris O'Grady early on, but they could not set up the striker for a quick opener.

Charlton tried to catch their opponents out on the counter-attack, but Jonathan Obika lost the ball in the box following a long ball forward from Ben Hamer.

Johnnie Jackson and Marvin Sordell had a string of chances for the home side, as they look to move away from the relegation zone.

However, Jean-Yves M'voto was able to put the Tykes, who were bottom in the table ahead of kickoff, ahead shortly before the break, heading in from a corner.

Charlton had all the possession in the final five minutes before the break as they tried to get back on level terms, but they were unable to do so before the whistle.
