Carlisle United sign Sheffield Wednesday defender Matt Young on loan

League Two outfit Carlisle United have signed Sheffield Wednesday defender Matt Young on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old joined the Owls from Southampton in the summer, but has yet to feature for the Championship side.

Cumbrians manager Keith Curle said of the signing on Friday: "We're not saying anything about his name, position or parent club until 2pm on Saturday."

Young goes straight into the Carlisle squad for Saturday's game against Cambridge United.
