Half-Time Report: Carlisle United in control against MK Dons

Carlisle United score twice in five minutes before half time against MK Dons.

Two goals just before the interval have given Carlisle United a comfortable lead against MK Dons in League One.

The first chance of the game fell to the visitors when Dele Alli, who managed to shake off a calf problem to start for the Karl Robinson's men, got into a reasonable shooting position outside the box, only to sky his effort over the crossbar.

Carlisle provided an immediate response as David Amoo's well-taken effort from the edge of the area was only just wide of David Martin's right-hand post.

From that point, Graham Kavanagh's team started to enjoy the greater opportunities, with Sean O'Hanlon twice going close to scoring for the Blues.

Midway through the half, Brad Potts's right-footed strike from outside the box was only just off target as Carlisle looked the more likely side to score with the first half progressing.

On 37 minutes, United made their pressure tell. Lee Miller latched onto James Berrett's pass and calmly placed his shot beyond the grasp of Martin.

Five minutes later, Carlisle took full control of the game when Potts prodded Amoo's cross home from close range, as the Dons struggled to regain their composure.
