Russell Slade looking to keep Kenwyne Jones at Cardiff City

Cardiff City coach Russell Slade insists that he is looking to keep key striker Kenwyne Jones despite the sale of other players in the January window.

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade has insisted that he wants to keep hold of frontman Kenwyne Jones.

The club has recently made a number of sales in an attempt to cut the wage bill at the Cardiff City Stadium, with both John Brayford and Kim Bo-Kyung departing.

"We've had no enquiries for Kenwyne," said Slade, according to Wales Online.

"I am fairly confident that he will be here at the end of the month. Obviously if a ginormous offer came in for him then that would be left with the owner and chief executive and the committee, but, from my point of view, I'd like him here.

"He is our leading scorer. I've had assurances. At this stage there is no kind of mandate to lose Kenwyne Jones at all."

Jones has notched six goals in his last eight games for the Bluebirds.
