Gary Medel wants to emulate Esteban Cambiasso at Inter Milan

Chilean international Gary Medel has claimed that he is "ready to be Esteban Cambiasso's heir" after arriving in Italy ahead of a move to Inter Milan.

Medel, who joined Cardiff City from Sevilla last summer, is expected to complete a transfer to the Italian outfit over the next 24 hours.

"I'm happy to be here. I'm ready to be Cambiasso's heir," he told reporters upon his arrival in Italy.

Cambiasso spent 10 years with Inter before departing on a free transfer this summer.
