Bury's Joe Thompson makes Southport switch

Conference Premier side Southport have completed the signing of Bury midfielder Joe Thompson on a short-term loan deal.

The 25-year-old, who signed a one-year contract at Gigg Lane in August, was only given the all-clear after battling cancer last June.

However, Thompson has bounced back and spent a spell on loan with Wrexham earlier this season.

He has made four appearances for the Shakers, and will now spend one month at Haig Avenue.
