Bury sack manager Kevin Blackwell

Bury announce that they have sacked manager Kevin Blackwell "with immediate effect".

League Two club Bury have confirmed that they have sacked manager Kevin Blackwell.

The 54-year-old took charge of the side in September 2012, but a poor start to the season has seen him lose his job.

Bury are currently in 21st place in the table after two wins and six defeats from their opening 11 matches.

A brief statement on the club's official website read: "Bury FC have terminated the contract of manager Kevin Blackwell with immediate effect."

Blackwell's last game as boss was a 2-0 defeat at home to Morecambe on Saturday.
