Sean Dyche: 'I have total belief in my players'

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says that he has "total belief" his players can maintain the spirit shown against Newcastle United in order to avoid relegation.

Sean Dyche remains confident that Burnley can achieve their goal of surviving relegation from the Premier League after seeing his side pick up a battling point at St James' Park.

The Clarets, who also held champions Manchester City earlier this week, came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with Newcastle United yesterday afternoon to show once more that they have what it takes to remain in the division.

Despite still finding themselves in the bottom three, Dyche believes that his players have shown enough spirit to push up the table in the second half of the campaign.

"I have absolute, total belief in what I do, what my staff do and what the players do," he told Sky Sports News. "The difference this season is purely the level, the teams you are playing, the quality of the teams you are playing, so there has to be balance to that.

"But my belief has been unshakeable since the first ball was kicked. It still is, it will be going forward because I believe in everything we do and I believe in the players, and they believe in themselves."

Burnley turn their attention to FA Cup action at the weekend when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the competition.
