Burnley have now been present in five of the last six Premier League seasons and actually finished seventh at the end of 2017-18, having enjoyed an excellent campaign.

The Clarets have again been impressive this term, collecting 39 points from their 29 matches to sit 10th in the table, just four points off sixth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.

There is no guarantee that the current season will resume, but Burnley are safe in the middle of the table and will be a Premier League club again next term unless something extraordinary happens.

A number of individuals have again enjoyed strong campaigns for Sean Dyche's side, and here Sports Mole takes a look at the club's most valuable players.

The top three players in this particular list are not a surprise, and in truth, they could have been placed in any order. It would probably be fair to say that James Tarkowski, Dwight McNeil and Chris Wood are the club's three most important players, with the former impressing at the back once again.

McNeil has managed two goals and five assists in the Premier League this season, while Wood has netted 11 Premier League goals during another strong campaign. McNeil could eventually become Burnley's highest-valued player, but it is difficult too argue too much with the current rankings.

Nick Pope might feel that he deserves higher than a £10.8m valuation, though. Indeed, the 27-year-old has enjoyed another impressive campaign - keeping 11 clean sheets - and is thought to be on Tottenham Hotspur's radar.

Ashley Barnes has been a reliable goalscorer for Burnley, but the 30-year-old, who has a valuation of £9m, has been harmed by injury in recent weeks. Fellow attacker Jay Rodriguez is slightly low with a £5.4m valuation, meanwhile, although his contract does expire next summer.

Further down the list, Charlie Taylor might also feel that his valuation of £4.5m is slightly on the low side. The 26-year-old has developed into an important player for Dyche's side, starting and finishing every one of their Premier League matches since December 21.

Adam Legzdins is at the bottom of the rankings, which is not a surprise as the 33-year-old goalkeeper has not made a single appearance for the Clarets since arriving from Birmingham City in 2017.

Phil Bardsley is the lowest-valued outfield player with £900,000, but the 34-year-old, like Taylor, has been an important player for the team in recent months. That said, the former Manchester United youngster sees his current deal at Turf Moor expire at the end of June.
