Manchester City's Greg Cunningham signs for Bristol City

Bristol City have completed the signing of defender Greg Cunningham from Manchester City on a four-year deal.

Cunningham has signed for an undisclosed fee, and moves in the hope of first-team football having made just four appearances for the Citizens since his debut in April 2010.

Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol, the Ireland international said: "I've been with City since I moved over here so it was always going to be a big decision.

"But I felt to better my career and better myself as a player I had to leave Man City, and I think Bristol City is the right club for me."

Cunningham spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
