Bristol City manager Derek McInnes believes that he saw both the good and the bad of his side in thier 3-1 loss to Blackpool on Saturday.

Bristol City manager Derek McInnes has blamed inconsistency for his side's 3-1 loss to Blackpool on Saturday.

McInnes saw his side take the lead in the first half but then let in three second-half goals, leaving City with just one point from their last six games.

"We saw both sides of our team today. In the first half we looked solid and organised, but once Blackpool equalised we lost our discipline and showed why we are struggling," said McInnes.

"The turning point was Blackpool's equaliser and I felt the ref let us down with the award of the free-kick. But we should have defended it better.

"A lot of things are going against us at the moment, but there is nothing to gain from feeling sorry for ourselves."

The result leaves City 21st in the Championship, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
