Steve Cotterill, Eoin Doyle land League One awards for September

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill and Chesterfield striker Eoin Doyle have been named as League One's Manager and Player of the Month for September.

Cotterill's Robins continued their fine start to the season with four wins and a draw last month and they currently sit top of the table on 25 points from their 11 games.

The other nominees were Swindon Town's Mark Cooper, Keith Hill of Rochdale and Oldham Athletic's Lee Johnson.

As for Doyle, he is the third tier's top scorer and last month netted consecutive hat-tricks for the Spireites against Scunthorpe United and Preston North End.

Notts County keeper Roy Carroll, Matt Done of Rochdale and Bristol City's Korey Smith were the other players shortlisted.
