Phil Parkinson: 'Bradford City win against Chelsea took a while to sink in'

Phil Parkinson praises his Bradford City side after they secure a shock 4-2 FA Cup win against Chelsea.

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has hailed the performance of his side after they secured a shock 4-2 FA Cup win against Premier League leaders Chelsea on Saturday.

Gary Cahill and Ramires had put the Blues 2-0 up at Stamford Bridge, but goals from Jon Stead, Filipe Morais, Andy Halliday and Mark Yeates completed a remarkable turnaround for League One Bradford.

Following the game, Parkinson told BBC Sport: "In the the first 20 minutes we did okay, but then we conceded the first goal and gifted them a second. The goal we got back before half-time gave us belief and in the second half we really took the game to them.

"We are at our best when we do that, and the way the lads stuck to the job on the pitch was absolutely superb. Kicking to our supporters in the second half was a big factor too, they made it like a home game for us.

"It was almost surreal when the fourth goal went in. It took a while for what we have achieved to sink in."

The FA Cup fifth-round draw will take place on Monday.
