Phil Parkinson admits Wembley dream

Parkinson admits Wembley dream

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has insisted that his side have every chance of extending their FA Cup run all the way to the final if they repeat the performance of their fifth-round victory over Sunderland.

The Bantams moved into the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over the Premier League Black Cats at Valley Parade on Sunday.

The result followed up the League One side's giant-killing of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in round four.

"If we get our approach right we've got a chance against anybody, and we proved that today," Parkinson told BT Sport.

"There was always a danger that because we beat Chelsea everyone would expect us to win today, and we had to guard against that and go in there with the underdog mentality.

"Today is another terrific day and to have Valley Parade full of 24,000 fans it's like a throwback. The lads were absolutely revelling in it and they deserve the support because of their performances and the effort they have put in over the years."

Parkinson guided Bradford to the 2013 League Cup final at Wembley, where they lost to Swansea City.
