Bournemouth and Watford played out their Premier League contest at Dean Court on Saturday.

Both sides came into the game off the back of defeats as the Cherries lost 2-1 to Stoke City in their last outing, while Quique Flores's men were beaten by Crystal Palace.

Eddie Howe's men took the lead in the 28th minute when Glenn Murray latched on to Matt Ritchie's cross to head past Heurelho Gomes, but Odion Ighalo brought the Hornets level on the stroke of half time when he seized on an error from Artur Boruc.

Bournemouth were presented with the chance to win the game in the 85th minute when they were awarded a spot kick, but Murray saw his effort saved by Gomes, which allowed Flores's side to hold out for a 1-1 draw.

Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Watford at Dean Court.

Bournemouth have enjoyed a solid start to their Premier League campaign, securing two wins in their opening seven matches. However, they were defeated 2-1 by Stoke City in their last match at the Britannia Stadium, and manager Eddie Howe will be determined to move his side away from the relegation zone before the international to consolidate their decent start.

Fellow newly-promoted side Watford have also made an impressive start to life in the Premier League as Quique Flores's men currently sit in 13th place in the table. Much was made of the club's decision to part company with Slavisa Jokanovic over the summer and replace him with Quique Flores, but the Spaniard has enjoyed early success in his time with the Hornets. The club recorded back-to-back wins over Swansea City and Newcastle United last month to guide them up the table, although they saw their run ended by a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last time out. Flores will want to see his side positioned in mid-table at the international break to provide as much distance from the relegation zone in the early stages of the campaign.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.

BOURNEMOUTH STARTING XI: Boruc, Francis, Cook, Distin, Daniels, Ritchie, Gosling, Surman, Pugh, King, Murray
SUBS: Federici, Cargill, Bennett, Smith, O'Kane, Tomlin, Kermorgant

WATFORD STARTING XI: Gomes; Nyom, Prodl, Cathcart, Ake; Capoue, Watson; Abdi, Deeney, Anya; Ighalo
SUBS: Arlauskis, Britos, Paredes, Guedioura, Ibarbo, Diamanti, Dyer

Bournemouth have been decimated by injuries at the start of the season as Callum Wilson joined Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings on the sidelines when he tore his ACL last week in the defeat to Stoke, ruling him out for at least six months. Captain Tommy Elphick is still out of the side with an ankle injury, and it is unknown when he will be able to return to fitness. Steve Cook and Sylvain Distin continue to anchor the back four in his absence, while Glenn Murray makes his first start for the Cherries since his move to the club in August to replace Wilson. Joshua King comes into the side in the only other change from the defeat to Stoke as he replaces Lee Tomlin, who drops to the bench.

The Hornets have not experienced the problems Bournemouth have had with injuries at the start of the campaign, but they are forced into one change this afternoon. Jose Manuel Jurado misses out due to a hamstring injury and is replaced in the starting lineup by Nathan Ake. The move allows Ikechi Anya to push forward on the left wing, while Ake drops into the side at left-back. Top goalscorer Odion Ighalo leads the line supported by an attacking trio of Troy Deeney, Almen Abdi and Anya, while Ben Watson and Etienne Capoue anchor the midfield in front of the back four.

Howe has conceded that his side will have to adapt due to the absence of Wilson from the final third. The striker had notched five goals for the Cherries before his injury.

He told BBC Sport: "We're going to be a different team now with Callum being out.

"It is up to everybody to step up and give more. Last season we were so consistent with our team selection, so this challenge is new for us. But the players who have stepped in have done well so far.

"I don't think you'll see a real change in style, but we are going to have to adapt."

STAT ATTACK! Bournemouth have lost just once in their last 13 home matches, which came on the opening day of the season against Aston Villa.

Flores has admitted that his side are in for a very tough challenge this afternoon. The Hornets lost at Dean Court 2-0 last season and the Spaniard is adamant that his side will have to be at their best, despite the Cherries' injury problems.

He told BBC Sport: "They are a very tough team and they won the league last year. In the matches with Bournemouth last year we did not win, so we know how dangerous this team is.

"It is a very tough team that we have to play. This team is part of our league and also our particular league, so it is a very important game for us."

"We try to set up a good plan with the idea to reduce Bournemouth's threat, the idea to adapt to the dimension of the stadium and the idea to create something and create opportunities."

STAT ATTACK! The Hornets have lost just once in their last 12 games away from home. The defeat came in August against Manchester City.

Our pundits on the Sports Mole sofa have discussed their thoughts on the match at Dean Court this afternoon. Click play on the video below to find out what they think will happen this afternoon.

PAST MEETING: In the last match between the sides, the Cherries secured a comfortable 2-0 win at Dean Court. The match could not have started worse for Watford as defender Gabriele Angella was dismissed in the first minute and life got worse when they gave away a penalty. Yann Kermorgant scored from the spot and Matt Ritchie notched a second after the break to secure the three points for Howe's men. The Cherries will be desperate for a repeat performance this afternoon.

UPDATE! Crystal Palace have recorded a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the early kickoff in the Premier League this afternoon to put the pressure on the Baggies at the start of the campaign. Read our report here.

Marc Pugh has believes that his side have the quality in the squad to cope with the absence of Wilson this afternoon and going forward in the campaign.

He told Sky Sports News: "Callum had a great start to the season but we have a great squad here. We have players who can come in and I believe in my team-mates. It will be a tough game but we want to make it a fortress here."

Over the course of history, the two sides have battled out an even contest with Bournemouth winning 37 of the 107 clashes between the teams, while Watford have won 38. There have also been 32 draws in the match since the sides first met in 1923.

The players are out on the pitch and we should be underway shortly.

KICKOFF! We're underway at Dean Court.

Anya makes a strong surge down the right and cuts back on to his left foot to whip a cross towards the near post, but Distin reads the danger and clears away.

King does well on the flank for the home side as he beats the attention of Ake and speeds towards the byline. The forward has Murray in support in the box and tries to find his strike partner, but his low ball into the area is well read by Gomes, who comes off his line to claim the ball.

CHANCE! Bournemouth threaten first as Ritchie raids down the right and lifts a deep cross to the back post for the run of Murray. The striker peels off his marker and has a free header at goal, but he can only guide his header over the bar. The 32-year-old should have done better with that opportunity.

The Cherries work the ball well in the final third this time down the left and Daniels hits a low cross towards the penalty spot for the run of Murray. The forward gets behind the Watford defence, but fails to make contact with the ball as it flies past the post. However, the flag was up for offside anyway.

A chance for the home side to threaten as Capoue brings down Ritchie 30 yards from goal following a solid spell of possession from the Cherries.

Ritchie lifts the ball into the box, but his free kick has too much height on it and Gomes comes through the crowd to claim the ball.

PENALTY SHOUT! Nyom raids well down the right for the visitors and cuts back on to his left foot to whip the ball towards the near post. The ball strikes Cook, and Nyom appeals for a penalty, but the referee dismisses his claims and waves play on.

Murray's poor display continues in the first half as he loses possession in the final third and then gives a free kick away with a foul on Cathcart. His error broke down a promising break for the home side as King won the ball from Nyom and drove with menace into the final third before he fed the run of the forward, but the opening came to nothing.

Bournemouth build well down the right as they exchange a series of passes through the midfield and it opens up space for Francis to lift a cross into the box. However, Prodl reads the danger well inside the penalty area to clear with a powerful header.

Anya drives forward and lofts the ball into the box for Ighalo. The striker thinks about taking the shot on first time on the volley, but opts to control it and turn in the area, although he gets crowded out by Distin and Cook, who clear the danger.

Plenty of effort in the opening 25 minutes of the game, but both defences have been solid this afternoon. The sides may just be lacking the bit of quality needed in the final third to break the deadlock.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 Watford (Murray)

Bournemouth produce the quality needed in the final third to break the deadlock, and Murray heads home from close range to put his side ahead. The delivery into the box from Ritchie on the right wing was sublime as he lifted the ball into the dangerzone between the keeper and the defensive line, and Murray made no mistake guiding the ball into the top corner.

Murray has not been at his best in the contest, but he displayed what all good strikes should have - a short-term memory. The 32-year-old put his first miss behind him and continued to make good runs into the box to notch his first league goal for the Cherries.

Watford have struggled to settle since the goal. They do not have an out ball at the moment as Ighalo and Deeney have been fairly anonymous for the Hornets so far this afternoon.

Anya has done his utmost to offer his side an outlet down the right wing, but support has not been coming through the middle for the visitors. The winger has found space in the final third at times, but has been forced back to Nyom time and again, and that has been the cause of the their downfall in their attacking play.

Pugh nearly feeds the run of King into the inside left channel, which would see the forward behind the Watford backline. However, the flag goes up as King sprints to get the ball. The former Blackburn Rovers man has performed well in the first half for the Cherries.

YELLOW CARD! Murray and Capoue are involved in a fracas, which referee Michael Oliver decides to leave without punishment. However, the 32-year-old comes in with a strong challenge on the Frenchman 30 seconds later and this time the official opts to send the striker into the book.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-1 Watford (Ighalo)

Nightmare for Bournemouth right on the stroke of half time. Boruc collects the backpass from Distin and decides to take a touch to get the ball on to his left foot. He tries to pass the ball back out to the defender under pressure from Ighalo, but hits the ball straight to the forward. Ighalo keeps his composure to round the keeper to slot the ball into an empty net. Huge mistake from Boruc and Watford are handed a gift right on the stroke of the half-time whistle.

HALF-TIME: Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Disaster for Bournemouth just before the break in a half that they dominated. The Hornets had not been a threat in the final third until Artur Boruc made the crucial error which allowed Odion Ighalo to pounce for his fifth strike of the season. The mistake eradicated all the hard work the Cherries had done in the first half to nullify the threat of Ighalo and Troy Deeney, leaving them back at square one.

Eddie Howe's men were decent in the final third in the first half, but seemed to be lacking a threat in the box due to the absence of Callum Wilson. It took Glenn Murray a couple of chances, but he finally got the goal to put his side ahead when he directed Matt Ritchie's cross into the net. Ritchie was the most influential player on the pitch in the contest in the opening 45 minutes, and Howe will once again look to him to provide inspiration to fire his side ahead once again.

The players are back out for the second half. So we should be underway shortly.

RESTART! We're back underway at Dean Court.

A crunching tackle from Ake on Ritchie down the right wing. The Bournemouth supporters demand action from Michael Oliver, but he keeps his cards in his pocket and gives the youngster a talking to instead.

Murray receives the ball in the final third and sends a pass to King in the inside right channel. The forward drives into the box and sends a cross to the back post, looking for the run of his strike partner. However, his cross goes over the head of everyone in the area.

Bournemouth threaten down the right as Francis coasts forward into the final third. The full-back sends a cross into the box for the run of Murray, but the forward can only guide his header straight at Gomes. The 32-year-old was offside anyway.

CHANCE! Ighalo raids into the box and pulls Distin one way then the other before firing at goal. However, Cook is on hand to make the crucial block to send the ball out for a corner. Dangerous from the visitors.

OFF THE BAR! Watford come within inches of taking the lead as the corner comes into the box and Bournemouth fail to clear their lines. The ball deflects into the path of Watson, who runs on to the ball and strikes with venom. The midfielder sees his volley crash off the bar and bounces clear.

The Cherries hit back with a solid spell of pressure as they take a quick corner and Pugh sends a low cross into the box, but Cathcart manages to get his foot to the ball to clear the danger. Exciting game at the moment.

Nice moment from both sets of supporters on the 55th minute as they stand to applaud in memory of Mick Cunningham, Bournemouth's club photographer, who died last week.

SUBSTITUTION: Adam Smith replaces Pugh for the home side.

The game has settle down after a frantic spell of five minutes when both teams had good chances to take the lead. However, no one came closer than Ben Watson, who saw his effort crash off the bar.

Watford win a free kick down the right and Anya lifts the ball into the box, and Cook manages to clear the danger, but only as far as Watson on the edge of the box. The midfielder strikes tbe ball with venom, but Surman makes the crucial block.

CHANCE! Watford break on the counter and Abdi threads a through-ball into the path of the advancing Anya, who has a one-on-one opportunity against Boruc. However, the keeper atones for his error in the first half by making the save with his body.

CHANCE! Bournemouth's turn to hit the visitors on the counter as Murray finds space in the final third. The striker has options around him, but he opts to strike at goal, only to see his effort comfortable saved by Gomes.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Ibarbo replaces Nyom for the visitors, while Eunan O'Kane comes on for Bournemouth to replace King.

Capoue brings down Gosling 30 yards from goal and a free kick is awarded by Oliver. Ritchie stands over ball for the home side.

Ritchie strikes the ball at goal with power, but Abdi comes out of the wall to make the block. That strike was travelling at some speed, good defending by the midfielder.

The Cherries press down the left flank as Ritchie sends the ball into the box from wing, and Murray gets in between the two centre-backs, but he is outmuscled for the ball and the Hornets clear. The forward wanted a penalty there, but the referee was not interested.

SUBSTITUTION: Paredes replaces the injured Anya for the visitors.

CHANCE! Smith and Francis link up down the right and the full-back raids towards the byline. He sends a cross to the back post where Murray rises highest, but he can only head his effort wide of the post.

The Cherries win a free kick in a dangerous position as Ibarbo brings down Ritchie down the left.

CHANCE! The free kick is cleared to the edge of the box, and Cook launches an ambitious overhead kick at the ball. The defnder's effort sails towards the bottom corner, but Gomes manages to palm the ball past the post at full stretch.

PENALTY TO BOURNEMOUTH!

Smith is brought down in the box by Capoue and the referee awards the penalty. A huge chance for the Cherries at the last stage in the game.

SAVED! Murray is denied from the spot by Gomes as the keeper dives the right way and palms his effort away from the net. A tame penalty from the forward, whose inconsistent day in front of goal continues.

Still plenty of action at both ends, as either team could still produce a winner at Dean Court.

CHANCE! O'Kane raids into the final third and twists and turns before rifling a low effort at goal, but Gomes makes a comfortable stop.

There will be four minutes of added time.

SUBSTITUTION: Late change for the visitors as Guedioura replaces Abdi.

FULL-TIME: Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

The match ends all square at Dean Court, but Bournemouth will be disappointed with the outcome as they missed a penalty and committed a huge error to allow Watford back into the game on the stroke of half time. It was a strange afternoon for Glenn Murray as he scored his first league goal for the club, but missed the spot kick and a host of other opportunities to fire his side to the victory. The 32-year-old will be frustrated with his display, but he may not feel quite as bad as Artur Boruc, whose costly error when he attempted to pass the ball out of his box was seized upon by Odion Ighalo and the striker displayed his composure to slot his effort into an empty net. Watford could have even won the game in second half when Ben Watson hit the bar, while Ikechy Anya saw his effort saved, but Quique Flores will definitely be satisfied to take a point from the fixture.

Thanks for joining our commentary today, until next time, goodbye.
