Aubameyang fuels rumours by missing training

Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fuelled rumours that he could be leaving the German club after he missed training on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old striker, who is the Bundesliga's top scorer with 18 goals, has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

However, a Dortmund spokesman has claimed that Aubameyang's absence from training was due to "personal reasons", dispelling suggestions that it was transfer related.

The club's Twitter page added: "He missed training due to a personal appointment. Will be back tomorrow."

According to Sky Sports News, Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter told reporters: "We all hope [Aubameyang will] stay. He's very important, on the pitch and off, for what he contributes to the group atmosphere."

Aubameyang has netted 27 goals in all competitions this season.
