Lewandowski nets twice in Dortmund rout

Robert Lewandowski has ended the season as the Bundesliga's top goalscorer as Borussia Dortmund cruised past Hertha Berlin 4-0 this afternoon.

The Pole scored his 19th and 20th league goals of the campaign to beat Mario Mandzukic to the award in his last Bundesliga match for the club.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan had an early sight of goal for the visitors, but his volleyed effort was held by the keeper.

The home side then came even closer to breaking the deadlock as Sandro Wagner saw his header following a corner cleared off the line.

In the 41st minute Lewandowski gave Dortmund the lead when he was picked out on the edge of the box by Mats Hummels, before sliding an effort into the bottom corner.

Marco Reus almost added another goal moments later, but his powerful effort was beaten away by the keeper.

They did manage to score a second with a minute of the first half remaining, when Milos Jojic cut inside from the right before bending a strike into the corner past Thomas Kraft.

After the break Reus was close to grabbing a third for Dortmund, but could only fire over the bar from a tight angle.

The visitors continued to dominate, and Lewandowski scored their third goal of the afternoon in the 80th minute as he curled a free kick from just outside the box into the top corner.

Mkhitaryan added a fourth goal moments later, when he turned in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's mishit shot from close range.
